New hire:
The employer and the employee meet each other for a small amount of time for a Q&A session (Official term is Interview). After answering each other’s question, if they think that, they would make a good team and offer letter is rolled out.
Is it any different from Arranged marriage, where in a guy & girl meet for little time, and expected to take major decision of their life??
Employee Referral:
The existing employee of the company refers his/her friend for the position available. Resume will be sent across and though the same process like the new hire is followed, the person who referred will put across few more good words to make sure his/her referral is selected.
Likewise, if the candidate hired doesn't perform upto the level, the employer has someone in the company to blame: D
In match fixing term, uncles or aunts or someone in the family often comes out with proposals of their friends' daughter/son and they try to convince that the person is best in the world and a promise of a very good life: D
IJP:
Yes, the employee is a known person to the boss. When there is an opening for the next level, depending on whether the particular candidate meets the criteria, the offer is given to the person. But on a probation basis and the performance in that position is evaluated on a timely basis. If the candidate doesn't meet the expectation, at times given extension under the same role before confirmation. If the person is doesn’t meet the criteria in any aspect, or fail to achieve the expectation by the boss, it might lead to cancellation of continuing in that higher level and will have to return to the previous level. If the candidate is too hurt, he/she will considering quitting the job :(
Any different in live in??
Promotion:
The employer already knows the eligibility of the candidate for the role. And in the coming promotion cycle, the offer letter is rolled out.. Though there is a small discussion in between, for formality.
I can say, marrying your best buddy or childhood friend, is more or less the same. Knowing & understanding each other is already in place, there is good rapport too. So, they say "why not tie a knot and be happy forever?"
The enthu before & after is just the same in both marriage & the new company... (arrgghh,, I'm being too cynical,, I'll stop here!! )
PS: In any types of marriage, there is an unexplainable element called love too, which can never be applied in Hiring Procedure :D
PPS: Being die hard fan of a feeling called "Love", I havent linked it with any Hiring procedure.
PPPS: You can add more how ever you wish to :D,, and I'm not allergic to good dose of laughter :P

Nice and funny way of relating two unrelated things…
If we are not satisfied with the work or the package, we leave the job and move away in search of target rich environments but can we do the same in love relation(It may be marriage or live in or just friendship)? :D ha ha ha
True love is about loving the imperfect person perfectly.
But in jobs there is no such bonding unless you are working with/for some passion (which I think is a rarity now).
Anyways nice post, loved reading it. Would have loved to read the “Demotion”, “Lay off” and “sacking” parts as well :D :D
thanks Asif,,
Its only about Marriage,,
Love is no where in the picture in this post,,,
do u see, there are websites for both these areas?
marketed too very well, :D
Hmmm sorry that I totally failed to explain you my view. Actually in my comment I specified all the three... Marriage, Live-in and friendship. I tried to call them as relations of love. And I tried to say that for all the three to be successful the main element should be love. The bonding in marriage also will be successful only when there is true love between the pair. Moreover I wanted to say that in jobs there is no such angle or bonding.
Yes I saw many such websites and I actually worked on the development of one such website myself. :D
:) i agree!!
I love my work,, but not my co :D
and,, you worked on developing a similar site.. gr8 :)
nice comparison out dere...
