Avatar & my own concerns !!!
Watched the movie Avatar, and really felt, it’s another version of Independence day, with its story line.
Well, In Independence day, there was an alien attack on earth, coz they had run out of their natural resources and saw they could take more from earth. In Avatar, its the same, but that the human beings are the attackers, looking for the precious mineral and Na’vi tribe is being attacked. If in Independence Day, all the fundoo technology and weapons are being used, and in Avatar, it’s in even a clandestine level of getting in to the genetically engineered bodies to interact with the tribe.
The way the Na'vi tribe lives in harmony with the nature, made me ask the basic question again to myself, are we living the nature way?
Human beings are no doubt the most brilliant/intelligent race (as per science) & high lightened race (as per all possible mythology)... Call it industrialization, or exploring more or understanding the nature way,,, we have only exploited every bit of nature of its most valuable resources, taken every other race of species for granted, killed & used for lavish/luxury purpose,, Who ever gave human being such right to do so? Is this called being intelligent or high lightened.. Where is the good old "Humanity" in human beings? Understanding the laws of nature doesn’t make us any free from obeying it...
All said & done, even I have a vehicle which runs on petrol, have a mobile which obviously causes radiation, carry plastic & other non bio degradable stuffs, all possible electrical items,,, the benefit of which I surely enjoy.. This reminds me of a friend, who decided to give up on his mobile, but, had to switch back in a yrs time... I feel as if I'm a link in the chain, which cannot be cut, howsoever , but in turn I add to the strength of the chain (though, unwillingly!!)
But, any day, if such tribes are to be destroyed by human beings to exploit the resources, I would say, "Survival of the fittest" and only humanity should survive... What’s the point being human, without humanity!!!
I strongly go with Jake Sully :)
